About Us

Bridson and Horrox Logo
Bridson & Horrox is a family owned and operated business which has built an unsurpassed reputation as the Isle of Man's premier supplier of total printing solutions.

Founded in 1933 by Harry Horrox and Marshal Bridson, the company is now moving forward with a third generation of leadership.

The company developed slowly in its infancy and its growth was temporarily interrupted with the arrival of World War II. Harry Horrox served in North Africa and Italy and was awarded the MC for outstanding bravery in action.

When he returned to the Isle of Man after the war, Harry Horrox occupied himself with printing for the local tourist trade during the winter months and running his own boarding house in the summer. In 1963, Harry's son, Ian, returned to the Island to take the helm and thus began the second generation of leadership. Ian Horrox was 27 years old and approached the challenge with unwavering determination and vision.

Over the next decade, the skills Ian Horrox had sharpened working for a London publishing company would prepare the business to respond to the eminent arrival of the Finance Industry. The early 1970's saw Bridson & Horrox perfectly positioned to provide the Island with high quality printing. Evolving product lines where continually identified.

Towards the end of the1970's the business was expanding. Products on offer to the local market ranged from paper tissues, chip trays, craft paper to paper bags. Always proactive and looking for new opportunities, the company intuitively acknowledged a growing need for chip cartons and grease paper following the demise of the newspaper at the local chip shop, simple repeat business.

With the digital revolution gaining momentum, the 1980's introduced the first photocopier to the masses which prevented the development of the much prophesised paperless office. Overwhelming demand for A4 boxed paper was again pre-empted by the business along with an increasing requirement for office stationery.

The 1980's also saw the addition of furniture to the Bridson & Horrox product portfolio and the company has seen substantial growth in both markets well in to the new millennium.
